Loomis Tank Centers is a wholesale and retail distributor of polyethylene, fiberglass and steel tanks for the storage and transportation of water and the bulk storage and transportation of chemicals and fertilizers. We feature fiberglass, as well as polyethylene septic tanks and the Infiltrator leach field system. Open top fiberglass and polyethylene water troughs are also available.
In addition to our five family-owned stores in California and Arizona we have a nationwide network of over 40 independent distributors and over 40 manufacturing points. Tanks can be picked up or delivered from any store or manufacturing facility. We offer nationwide service to all fifty states. We work with a number of trucking companies in order to provide our customers with the most economical shipping prices available, along with the best turnaround time from order placement to product delivery.
The Loomis Family has been in business since 1905. The family business was founded by E.C. Loomis, the great-grandfather of Dan Loomis (the current president of Loomis Tank Centers). E.C. started in business as a grain and hay broker on the central coast of California in the small town of Arroyo Grande. His son later joined the business, creating E.C. Loomis & Son Feed.
In 1935, they built a feed mill in San Luis Obispo and added several retail locations. Ivan, one of E.C.'s son, had two boys: Richard (Dan's father) and John. They also joined the family business.
In 1952, Richard started Loomix liquid feed supplements. His operations quickly branched out into 21 states and Canada. In the early 1960s, the Loomis fiberglass division was created in order to manufacture the troughs used in the Loomix feeding process. Later, fiberglass septic tanks were also manufactured. This operation, along with the management of the feed stores, was handled by John Loomis.
Dan Loomis joined Loomix, Inc. in 1981, starting in service and, later, moving up to regional sales manager. He stayed with Loomix until the business was sold in 1991. At that time, Dan purchased the Loomis fiberglass division, which, by then, had started to distribute polyethylene water and chemical storage tanks. The new company was named Loomis Tank Centers, which has seven retail locations, over 40 distributors, and does business nationwide.
